How much does a brick of coir expand to and how much does it weigh?

How much gypsum to add to simmer/soak for grains?

How to prepare coir and bulk substrate:
2 quarts verm 4 qts water and 1 brick coir (or 650-700g chipped from block)
1 brick of coir = 650g (1.43 lbs) (you may have to chip off that much from the larger 11 lbs blocks sold by Home Depot)
If you’re doing it right a 1:4 spawn to substrate will take off. I’ve done as high as 7:1 without issue, but it takes longer to colonize.

Ryan Cox says:

How many jars of colonized grain do you need for one large tub?

Faith Reese says:

so you dont soak the block after flushes?

K. C.W says:

You don't need mushrooms for health whatsoever, or cruciferous vegetables there's no essential nutrients you're cutting out when you dont eat them. Good video though.

Bruce Wyatt says:

Thankyou Gordo for such a formative video.

matthew lydic says:

So why do you not drill holes in the tots? Is that to create a better moisture content?

Kirk Johnson says:

Very clever to have different colored gloves on your left and right hand. This helps to avoid confusion.
