Professor David Nutt is a leading doctor, psychiatrist, psychopharmacologist, researcher, author and communicator. Here we talk about the coming second psychedelic revolution in psychiatric medicine. Based on David’s latest book on the subject, ‘Psychedelics’ written for everyone and reasonably priced, check it out, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Psychedelics-Revolutionary-Drugs-Change-Expert/dp/B0C2ZYXCCB/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3ELAL1TTCN6WB&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.wtmpP1gZgeXLB_XhhebihMmiIT96rT4URSV40XbpgwkXlewitdGosFNOdYTGXMcXJHSqU1sipPl1kcwMw5o22r59OC0v7q03iidZVDeMqnk.7TOG1W3VAgyrLtjRy_l8TGKlpDSenjj3q43_MKpIYI4&dib_tag=se&keywords=psychedelic+nutt&qid=1741823081&sprefix=psychedelic+nutt%2Caps%2C101&sr=8-1

Super important discussion here – I predict mental ailments are going to increase to the point that demand for treatment is so overwhelming that it leads to a renaissance of natural therapeutics and systemic medicines like Psilocybin and her relatives. Discussions such as this one are paving the way for that.

I do wish there was a trial going here in California. My wife has been clinically depressed her whole life. It is such an insidious and wretched condition.

@PaulineSmit77 says:

Three things that changed my life:

1. started watching youtube videos

2. read book called Rethinking Health Secrets

3. I stopped eating excess sugar

And of course the amazing power of psilocybin mushrooms, one can be in awe & wonder at the story that Paul Stamet's tells of the intense mushroom trip that cured his stutter while he was stuck up a tree during a lightening storm, one of the funniest yet most profound journey's I have heard about, it is still on Youtub somewhere.

My aunt was paralyzed by her brain (so thankful to have it recognized). They couldn’t help her (temporarily sometimes)

This was great. Thx to both of u!

What's interesting is the current intravenous DMT trials that were going on at Imperial, where the participants spend an extended period within that "realm". Aubrey Marcus had a good podcast about it recently with the whole research centre having now moved to Barbados and now freed itself of academic restraints. Aubrey Marcus a very experienced psychonaut with numerous plant medicines but it was very interesting to hear all the participants within that discussion had broadly moved round to the idea that those entities, in the visionary state, are real, and free standing with their own volition and obviously they do not agree with the materialistic paradigm that consciousness is an epiphenomenon of the brain.

I was on the Helica Pylori trial in Bristol UK and was suffering very badly with a duodenal ulcer. It basically consisted of a very powerful antacid and an antibiotic. Within a couple of weeks my pain had completely gone and I have NEVER suffered since. Is it any wonder big pharma don't want this widely available.

@m.vonhollen6673 says:

I ate a mushroom, growing in a field. It stripped away the lies and showed me what was real. Then I saw the beauty at the centre of it all, and I heard the great spirit call. I journeyed inward to the valley of dreams, and witnessed something sacred there flowing like a stream. I broke the taboo when I altered my mind, released from what binds humankind.

@ginburke3158 says:

Fascinating topic and information. I recently started microdosing with magic mushrooms and like the effect so far. This video echoes Dr Huberman's podcasts on psilocybin. They increase neural plasticity in the brain.

@donaldflynn2574 says:

I watch other medical-related podcasts to get a dose of science, health and confirm reality but, I am much more consistently satisfied with Dr. Campbell's coices and moral standing. He has the guts for this. Fortisimo!

@fuzzylogic27 says:

I have for the last ten years suffered from severe OCD, to the point of causing physical harm, (restricting liquid intake, food etc, hurting my hands with compulsive washing) I'm thankfully now slightly better but no therapy or conventional medication has ever helped me. I would LOVE to give Psilocybin or LSD a try but wouldn't know where or how to get it or what dose to take.
Plus I'd be scared to do it on my own. What am I supposed to do? Can I contact Prof Nutt and be put on one of these trails?
Or does anyone have any advice? I'd be grateful for any suggestions!
