It is well documented that Bill Wilson was an adulterer and a womanizer. He was serially unfaithful to his wife, and he would hook up with women in AA 20 years younger than him. Bill Wilson was the co-founder of a sex cult called Alcoholics Anonymous.
I dont know what many of you are talking about BUT i do know that AA works BECAUSE i have used the AA program among many other recovery tools, to stay off of meth for nearly 5 years after battling with a twenty year addiction. Meth doesn't hold a candle to AA.
I'm in AA. Me and my sponsor don't necessarily agree on this point but personally I think LSD used in a controlled setting to bring about contact with one's higher power isn't necessarily a bad thing and shouldn't necessarily count against someones sobriety since it is being used as a medicine and not necessarily as a drug.

I had the same exact experience 20 years ago on my knees in suicidal despair in rehab. No drugs involved. And PS, the belladonna cure they refer to is homeopathy energy no “mother” of the plant. I never heard of them giving LSD.
If you have to take drugs to connect with God you are not connecting with God!

Instead of learning to recite the institutionalized narratives in the meetings for the approval, they all should read there own book ! There is a lot of written history about plenty of stuff ,before it became institutionalized!
Bill himself in writing said he developed a false self as a result in his participation with what he created and had to break away to help himself !
So this guy only had a spiritual experience while tripping but not in a sober state? Never in a sober state? I thought he had a white light experience than tried to recreate that experience later on with the use of psychedelics.
He had a hell of an acid trip (Acid Anonymous)
Even after that experience in the Hosipital he was still tempted to drink again
Took a acid trip camping and the white bright light has came to me in my vision and it’s extremely feels radiant of love and it’s message I will always be there for you it changed my life completely and to become a better person
While in Townes Hospital he was administered “The Townes-Lambert Cure” which contained Belladonna and Henbane, two well known delirium inducing drugs.
