A great friend of the Eden Foundation and the Psychedelics as Medicine conference, Rick Doblin takes the stage in Reykjavík for the second time around, debuting at PAM2023 and now sharing updates two years later.

Rick Doblin, Ph.D., former President and Founder of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), will discuss the state of MDMA-assisted therapy for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Doblin will unpack the August 2024 decision of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to require further research before approving the treatment and chart the path forward. He’ll explore other current and future studies of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD, including international projects aimed at supporting communities facing high levels of trauma and limited access to care.

Rick Doblin is the former director & Founder of MAPS – the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies.

Rick Doblin, Ph.D., is the founder and former president of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), a pioneering nonprofit focused on advancing the medical, legal, and cultural integration of psychedelics. Since founding MAPS in 1986, Doblin has led efforts to establish legal frameworks for the therapeutic use of psychedelics and marijuana, both as prescription medicines and tools for personal growth. His work has been instrumental in advancing clinical research, particularly with MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD, which has earned “breakthrough therapy” designation from the FDA.
