Professor Rachel Yehuda from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai describes psychedelics as “heart openers” and Dr. Liliana Galindo from the University of Cambridge likens their action to a surgeon’s scalpel, but each agree that psychedelic-assisted therapy may offer lasting relief to people struggling with a wide range of mental health problems.

Both join Lancet editors Jonathan and Matt to discuss the burgeoning field of psychedelic-assisted therapy. LSD, MDMA, 5-MeO-DMT, psilocybin, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance-use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder; potentially-pivotal phase 3 trial data are maturing amid growing interest from regulators and investors, but many practical questions remain before the patients most in need may benefit from this psychedelic renaissance.

Cool vid… Just a theory I came up with after hearing about that research mentioned about how the therapy component may not even be needed for healing with ayahuasca; perhaps it is a sound theory to look at what Psychedelics do to the human brain when being ingested or enjoyed/experienced is essentially doing what those old CRT Computers Monitors did when you Degauss them; known as CRT Degaussing….. I posit that they effectively reset your mind in a calibration type of way to like default/healthy/normal functioning; perhaps it is a way to reset the brain to the current moment which makes me think that societally and environmentally our environments are going to have to improve as citizens on earth if you think about it as some mental hygiene type of thing given how all the conditioning as well as programming causing suffering in patients is bound to creep in again given the unresolved nature of these sources of agitation/frustration/pain/anxiety etc….
