Clinics in Mexico are offering hope for patients in the form of psychedelic therapy, including for U.S. Army vets seeking ibogaine treatment for issues including depression and PTSD. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has indicated openness to these alternative treatments, but experts have warned of risks such as cardiac and neurological harm. NBC News’ Morgan Radford reports on the alternative treatment routes.

Unbelievable. The guy that's off the meds and doing so much better – and this is ignored? There are some really dark forces in this world. Crazy…

@CustomCreationFromGod says:

It should be criminal to cause a epidemic and to place an option proven for some to be life changing hostage. I promise there will be hundreds of facilities opening up with little or subpar knowlege and assistance to attempt to cash in on this. Mexicos the main supplier of the current war on the World with the fent pills. I would be very sceptical going anywhere in that region because of the possibel backlash they will receive from the cartels. But its the only affordable solution for many who want to break away from these miserible pain management options in America. The US has to be the worst care and the regulations signed and run by texas have no sign ups and gettingf massive millions makes me think if they ever get it to be approved will only happen for the money

@ibzanortiz4280 says:

Where was the research for other meds

@Mixin2legit2quit says:

This Is Ridiculous, let us use what we want, Alcohol Is Everywhere and kills lots

@Petertheconcertpianist92 says:

Can they use this for therapy in a facility with all the proper monitoring, I:E Pulse Oximetry, 5 Lead ECG, Non-Invasive Blood Pressure, ETCO@, etc? And if so, do they need to start an IV to do this?

@fredbear5492 says:

Donald trump just fixed this one thanks to Joe Rogan

@JustAnotherGenXer says:

President Trump just signed the EO today ❤

@keithmaggard9024 says:

I have seen where it can rid a person of addiction and gives them back a life we need it tested

@mbaxter22 says:

Oh the irony of a fascist right-wing administration embracing psychedelics. Glad to see this government at least showing more openness to psychedelic therapy compared to previous (far more progressive) administrations.

@rustythompson1436 says:

I dont understand the worry of dependence. It doesn't sound like a drug ypu take home with you and just keep taking it. If im understanding it correctly, its a 1 day hospital setting kind of thing. Plus if your already an addict, you should have the option to take your chances.

@CASABIANCA-s9l says:

Psychotropic medication kills more people than anything

@kamilla1111 says:

It is not addictive. You have to be crazy to get addicted to reliving trauma and resolving deep feelings. I found ibogaine to help me manage stage 4 endometriosis pain and inflammation. I go twice a year and am never excited about it. It’s a very hard work both mentally and physically. If only someone would study it to develop long term treatment for chronic illness along with everything else this medicine can cure.

@sergiosrealm666 says:

I’m travelling from Australia because I’m getting worse and I’m an addict to opioids

@emilyrosecovet says:

Please keep covering this!! Bryan Hubbard is a HERO! Talk to him and give him this nationwide platform, PLEASE! We’ve been suffering for over 20 years after we were sent to fight for our country. We need and deserve REAL help! It’s too expensive for most of us to be able to complete this treatment. Continuing to cover this might help!

@AngelSantos-nm2yd says:

once again my country care lot lot more than the US that preffers money before US citizens healt benefits.
