Psychedelic's Changed My Life – Talking Slop with Anya Oleksiuk (Part 1)
Anya Oleksiuk is one of my creative art gatekeepers in the psychedelic community. She reached out to me some years back initially to participate in her new documentary project. To tell the truth I wasn’t sure about her when we first spoke… but we eventually met, we connected, vibed and have been creating amazing content ever since. We have since travelled together around the UK and Europe creating content and spreading spores at both psychedelic conferences and festivals. I’m glad I moved passed my initial hesitations in connecting with her as I now have a friend and ally in the movement… and we definitely have more content and history to create.
Anya is a filmmaker with a passion for psychedelics, mental health, drug advocacy, social, racial and climate justice. A love of documentary films and music videos led her to study an MA in Documentary and Experimental Filmmaking. After completing her masters, she joined the End-Of-Life Care charity, Marie Curie, running their video department. In 2017, she founded Triptika Studios, a collective of independent filmmakers and artists with interests in psychedelics, mental health, science, innovative solutions, drug advocacy, social, racial and climate justice. Her aim for Triptika Studios is to work on projects oriented towards social change and improving human wellbeing. Her recent project is The Psychedelic Renaissance documentary.
At The Psychedelic Society UK, she leads the creation of educational and promotional video content. In addition, she curates events themed around psychedelic science, accessibility, race and gender. “I’m passionate about education, harm reduction, inclusivity, accessibility and the decriminalisation of psychedelics and cannabis in the UK, and around the world”.
She is also associated with the Psychedelic Society of the Netherlands and is a consultant for the Polish Psychedelic Society (Polskie Towarzystwo Psychodeliczne).
