It’s time to make psychiatry more psychedelic, says psychiatrist Benjamin Lewis. Sharing results from his clinical trial on psychedelic-assisted therapy, he highlights how group therapy paired with the safe use of psilocybin, a compound found in magic mushrooms, has the potential to improve mental health conditions like depression and burnout.

Strong finish; yeah, why don't we make the thing that is comparatively lagging in effectiveness more like the approach who's effectiveness can only be described as miraculous?

@chuchuman1163 says:

I like what this man says about psychedelics.

@V1brationCanine says:

Waterloo Regional Police raiding mushroom shops 'cause they're corrupt and don't want people to be medicated. Psilocybin saved my life and DMT continues to save me from my disabilities.

@user-bs9ud1ql1p says:

Excellent…

@Melissa0774 says:

I wonder if this sort of therapy does anything for people with narcissism or psychopathy, or reactive attachment disorder? Can it make the brain experience feelings and emotions that it's never experienced before?

@Melissa0774 says:

If someone were to tell me this guy is Fred Rogers' grandson, I could totally believe it.

@Thukad says:

I wonder why he sounded like general conference, and then he mentioned the University of utah. Mormon, got it

@nataliep6385 says:

Every winter I always micro-dose for 6 straight weeks while excersising + eating healthy + walk in nature every day for those 6 weeks.
After this period of time, i always feel 'cured' and ready for summer.

@conspiracytherapist2473 says:

What a tiresome rhetorical headline. Let the therapy flow and start helping people not pockets.

@petsmart1000 says:

I already have problems with my brain and the last thing I want or need is to be on mind altering drugs. A friend of mine had me try weed and I couldn’t think clearly. I was literally forgetting what I was talking about every ten seconds. Then I would have very short moments of clarity, and absolutely hated what I was feeling and going through!! It’s a hard pass on ANY drugs for me. Idc what strands of whatever people say will work, it’s a no from me. But good luck to everyone else. ✌️

@John-co6mo says:

I suffer from cPTSD, and it has been a nightmare for me. Living alone and isolated, I no longer socialise with people. The pandemic restrictions here in Australia most certainly didn't help. It made my mental health issues worse.

I live in the hope that one day, this treatment will be available to people like me because I miss being more functional and active.

It's very lonely living a very isolated lifestyle because people are often cruel to me because of their ignorance in not understanding what it's like to live with cPTSD.

It's heartbreaking because my adult daughters and my grandson miss out on having a relationship with me.

Thank you for sharing this Ted talk because it gives me hope.

@jordough4495 says:

I'll save everyone 12 minutes:

@mikestaub says:

5meoDMT is super powerful

@Slurm_Daddy92 says:

I'm curious if this guy has ever done psychedelics?

@ThatViralVideo says:

This guy’s out of his mind. Never get high on your own supply.

@reverend11-dmeow89 says:

Psychologists and Psychiatrists who are in big-pharma's pocket are the greatest danger to mental health.

Telling me that I have brain chemisty imbalance, take this, express grief and tremendous discomfort, "Your body just needs to get used to it."Celexa gave me Spina Bifida body hallucination FOR SIX SOLID WEEKS.

1V-LSD the one time a year back gave me respite from false-accusation of psychosis unidentified schizo-affective racing thought.

That last one got me back on track>

If you believe I am suffering from racing thoughts, let's do this. You escalate my case up the food chain to a someone who can keep up.

Living in what R. D. Laing called, "Schizophrenia is a natural hunman response to living in an insane society."

@PedroHenriquePS00000 says:

i wonder if we can emulate the effects of psychodelics and strong drugs like cocain using neuralink without the side effects

@mohdnorzaihar2632 says:

"Secularism" create a "bipolar disorder transhuman" all over the world and then they "provide" us with 'psychologist' so that you really look "sick" but we muslim learn the "tricks" since our early age.

@samuelzev4076 says:

Yes LSD can be used to treat depression but these beneficial effects are mostly side effects that are beneficial for some

@user-ew8xj5pg7y says:

God loves you and cares for you so that this message reaches you. God is the one who created this large universe and controls it completely. The greatest loss a person loses in this life is that he lives without knowing God who created him and knowing the Messenger of Muhammad, the last of the messengers, and the Islamic religion, the last of the heavenly religions.  Great intelligence, before you believe in something or not, is to read it, study it, and understand it well, and after that you have the choice to believe in it or not to believe in it. I advise you to do this now, before you no longer have time to do so. Life is very short. It is just a test, just a passage to eternal life. Great advice to those who…  Understands
