Most people in the psychedelic community are aware of the Experiment at La Chorrera, a shorthand signature for an encounter with high weirdness that overtook my brother Terence and me while seeking an exotic hallucinogen in the Colombian Amazon in the spring of 1971. These events have been chronicled in our books, True Hallucinations (1993), and The Brotherhood of the Screaming Abyss (2011). The story has taken on an almost mythopoeic quality. But what was really going on? It has many elements in common with classic alien abduction episodes, but with a psychedelic twist. In this talk I will examine E@LC from this perspective. Still trying to sort it out after all these years.

Is La Chorrera still essentially the same as it was in 1971? Do people make a pilgrimage of sorts to visit?
God the McKenna brothers are two of the most beautiful souls. I absolutely love their courage and call to adventure.
Dennis never seems to mention the praying mantis like 15 foot tall alien anthropologist that performs experiments on your mouth, whom I studying us. That was probably the freakiest thing.

why does it have to be called "The Devils Paradise" ? Why not "Gate to Paradise"? Function follows form, mind follows speech … ? or is it the opposite … Form follows function … speech follows mind?
Lol. One more things, I was diagnosed with having a high IQ. I was a very strange kid. Hahaha. Always interested in the true nature of reality. We have two choices in life. We believe and do what culture subscribes for us to believe and do. Or, we can seek for the answers ourselves, find our truth and our beliefs outside of cultural boundaries. Thanks again , bro.
Dennis McKenna thank you for giving insights into the secrets of the OTHER SIDE. I have seen , at the ripe old age of 14, that the true nature of what we believe reality to be is beyond what we can imagine. The dose was approx 900mcg. My ego dissolved within 30 minutes. I had to relearn everything. It did cause pretty severe HPPD. I still have the sensation where I can feel the furthest regions of the universe defined in complex mathematical equations ….. my mind remains open. The brain as a receiver and not a creator is true. At least for me. I'm rambling. I can write a dissertation on some theories I have. But, it would be too boring. Anyways , ty so much, Dennis. You are awesome. Much love from southern California.
