Everywhere around us, there are signs of a psychedelic renaissance: in medicine, therapy, commerce, and the arts.

These drugs are getting serious, positive coverage in glossy magazines, best-selling books, literary memoirs, documentaries, and hit podcasts. Performers like Reggie Watts, Melissa Etheridge, and members of the Flaming Lips openly acknowledge the role of hallucinogens in their work. And a flourishing psychedelic comedy scene is springing out all over the place.

But federal prohibition of psychedelics—a term that refers to a broad category of consciousness- and perception-altering substances—is also changing. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is expected to approve therapy using psilocybin, the psychoactive ingredients in magic mushrooms, and MDMA, the drug also known as ecstasy and molly. And Oregon and Colorado have decriminalized the recreational use of plant-based psychedelics.

Word is that even the president—famous as a teetotaler, for having an addict son, and as a major force behind the half-century-long drug war—is “very open-minded” about medicinal use of psychedelics.

I use mushroom's for my health & just for creativeness. It really put's you in a flow. It can also make you see the world for what it is.

@denniswinters3096 says:

They made it illegal in the Seventies because they were afraid everyone would give up alcohol and cigarettes, in favour of psychedelics. The whole economy would collapse ! It wasn't people jumping out of windows they were afraid of, so much as the end of capitalism !

@davidsabastian9817 says:

This is a way of life
One Way, One Way, Only.

These people know nothing on our way of life , know nothing on how to conduct oneself around this medicine or medicine people, you all know nothing of the protocols or the unspoken rules unless one has been brought up in this life.

This way of life is not a play toy or an experience to experiment with these medicines or sacred articles.

You all are treating these ways of life like a
Rainbow gathering of false enlightenment.

This way of life is not
like a college degree where once you get
it you hang it on the wall and it's
yours forever.

more it either is or it
isn't your way of life,

in this moment, every one of you has to accept in this life. In other words,

who you are
or
you're not. This is our way of life, not yours.

so to let you all know that we are not
allowing any corporations, share holders , and investors to try and bastardize this sacred way of life.

We shall not allow corporations, board of investors, and insurance companies to violate and bastardize what was given to NAC by the Federal Government, these laws only apply to Native American Church,
any the chapters that have sold out these ways will be sued personally and any attempt from attorneys shall be bar grievances filed against them and the law firms that represent the said attorneys, any judge that attemps to overide Federal laws shall have judicial discipline complaints filed and any attempt to try and have legislators rewrite Federal law will be delt with in Federal Court.

@ryanmugits5356 says:

Those protesters acting as if any one group of people hold ownership of this medicine are just as bad as the people keeping it illegal

@JacksonDavis-dw3we says:

Psychedelics definitely have the potential to deal with mental health issues like anxiety and depression, they really helped me.

@jkbigp says:

I think Joe Rogan has had a huge positive effect on how society views psychedelics. He has arguably the biggest platform on the planet, and he advocates for their benefits regularly. Without his voice, I don't know that we would be this close to legalizing any of them.

@robertgroff2105 says:

Does anybody just take them for fun anymore? A lot of people are over thinking shrooms…

@G11.11 says:

IBOGA IS HORRIBLE
LSD CAUSES ME DEPRESSION 3 DAYS LATER
MUSHROOMS DO THE SAME AS LSD TO ME

@MILC0M says:

Big Pharma hates opposition. The day Big Pharma gives it an OK stamp they then have already registered patents on it..

KEEP BIG PHARMA OUT OF IT !!!!!!

@henkgroenewald7588 says:

Psilocybin saved my life

@user-jw8ec1ug1z says:

The blue mold on rye plants is where LSD originally csme from. Ergot Fungus. In Berekly and around San Francisco in the 60s they use to sell blue soup on the street corners.

@nickhunsaker3810 says:

All I'm going to say is the whole idea of dropping out starts with the truth that there are many things that are wrong with our society everywhere you look and these things become glaringly obvious under the influence of certain compounds. It's gotten worse since the sixties too it's pretty obvious we are in a sick and crumbling society the kind of things people like Leary were trying to avoid.

@SachaLotus says:

17:00 of course there HAD to be a Karen …. “Cultural appropriation”??? Gtfoh

@howardrobinson4938 says:

If a psychedelic experience is similar to this video that shifts it's view every second, then I don't want a psychedelic experience.

@Tyrael112 says:

MAPS is an unfortunate acronym.

@taobe2135 says:

Good to see something everyone almost agree on

@austingaudet9734 says:

The only problem I have with this is that a session would cost much more than it should why pay a few grand or few hundred when you can grow them yourself and integrate after.

@Greg.Olson2299 says:

Depression haunted my life from a very young age, and I was put on a bunch of SSRIs as a child in attempt to deal with it. None worked.Psychedelic mushrooms was brought to my attention. It was the first thing that actually had real effects. They should only be used with great care and respect.

@larryfulkerson4505 says:

The Washington Post is looking for a marijuana topic editor. They have one, they're looking for him.
