The talk looks at modern research on how psychedelics affect the human brain and consciousness. It focuses on the psilocybin mushroom and examines key scientific findings on its effects on humans. The talk goes into a degree of detail about the short- and long-term effects of psychedelic substances, and seeks to outline the potential these substances have in medicine and self-development.

Simeon Keremedchiev comes from a legal background, but his interest in different scientific disciplines and human consciousness led him to attaining a degree in Psychology. He is currently
involved in the development and launch of a comprehensive online informational platform, directed at self-development, human consciousness and conscious living. Simeon’s work gravitates around the genetic potential which lies within the human genome and our innate ability to unlock it.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

Psychedelics have the potential to make a significant impact on mental health issues like anxiety and depression. They've been incredibly helpful for me personally.

@Robertvaquero says:

Mushrooms did wonders in my life. I was diagnosed with cptsd since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting cptsd. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. This is something that really need to be use globally to help people with similar health challenges.

@BLACKSYNTH says:

When I had a heroic dose, Time was a weird concept to me, I was consious of breathing for me in the present but also breathing for a me somewhere else that was shifted like 15 mins in the past and I kept flipping between me laying on the bed and a me walking some streets with other people. running down streets trying to hit mushroom shaped buttons to get back to now.

@Himaryous says:

This man's manner does not inspire me to follow his path.

@morgancr1993 says:

Psilocybin mushroom has also shown effectiveness at easing fear and anxiety in people with terminal cancer.

@donaldjesus5382 says:

I might be just a 16 year old kid but my few ill advised experiences with these substances have transformed me into a better human; they are truly tools. My first experience with LSD provided me with so many kind of "answers" to things, or rather new outlooks on so many things. I realized after being in a sort of thought loop (a common effect reported by many users), that I often, in my everyday life think the same thoughts. I suppose now after watching this lecture I had became aware of my default mode network. Thought loops can be extremely frightening at first but in my few encounters I mustered up the brain power or willpower to break out of them bringing a quite profound discovery that is impossible, at least for me, to put into words.

@daviswilliams7501 says:

Psychedelic are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough.it's fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety..it saved my life

@areftiari2197 says:

If you are here to see if you want to use them or not. I just tell you this after reading and researching for over 4 years about all he just mentioned I just tell you one thing go for it and do it. Stop researching I wasted my time researching about it i should have done it many many years ago

@brycehamilton4903 says:

As someone with ADHD, this guy has no idea what he's talking about. Pharmaceutical administered drugs certainly have their place. My medication is a game changer for me.

@callahanwelsh says:

He keeps walking around, which means he's nervous. You can see his insecurities.

@pashaforv says:

Psilocybin and LSD is illigal not because it is harmful, but because its SO beneficial and delivers positive results and "solution" to mental problems/states and that cant be allowed by big farma with HUGE profilts to lose, no one will be taking antidepresants for YEARS and decades when you can have a "trip" and be better for over a year or for the rest of your days…. and you cant charge 30-50k a year for treatment when mother nature give it to you for free out of its LOVE and not for profit greed.
