We at Breaking Convention were shocked to hear of the passing of Baba Kilindi Iyi in April 2020. Kilindi was a prominent member of the psychedelic community, who had spoken at every conference we have held since 2011.

This event was to honour the work and legacy of Baba Kilindi Iyi and hear from those closest to him, their stories of their time with Kilindi and what the future holds in terms of carrying on his work. Due to COVID it was held via zoom on Sun 2nd Aug 2020.

Hosted by Aimee Tollan, one of the directors from Breaking Convention, we hear from Darren Le Baron a researcher and teacher based in the UK who was very close to Kilindi. Darren was key in organising Kilindi’s visits to our conference in recent years holding the pan-african panels that Kilindi and the other speakers from this event appeared on. We then hear from Kilindi’s closest family and friends; Ayana Iyi, Moudou Baqui and Omolewa (Entheogenic Midwife).

Donations from this event will go towards The Detroit Psychedelic Conference, an event that Kilindi was organising before his passing. You can still donate via our PayPal: PayPal.me/breakingconvention and please use the reference ‘kilindi’

You can also follow Darren’s work at darrenlebaron.com and you can subscribe to his channel on youtube!

Make sure to subscribe to our channel and you can find us on social media and sign up to our newsletter at breakingconvention.co.uk

R.I.P. Baba Kilindi Iyi

Please note: we experienced technical difficulties with Omolewa’s internet connection, however we do rectify this, if you skip through those parts we do eventually get her on the line

BLM is a Marxist /communist group. Anything followed by liberation has to do with liberating oneself from reality, from gender, from the body…

You cannot fix so called lack of diversity. A quota?? Psychedelic equity? Psychedelic socialism??? No. It's destiny.

„mushroom baby“ ? giving mushrooms
to kids at a young age? this sounds like a terrible and highly illegal idea.

On the point of creating art while on cubensis, It definitely increased my abilty to create a beautiful picture, I started to draw on my wall with a pencil and ended up with alot of nice little drawings for me to enjoy, also , using pencil and paper helped me bring back some photos of what i saw.
