____________
"Welcome to the psychedelic '20s!" Rick Doblin, founder of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, or MAPS, proclaimed in his keynote speech to open the Psychedelic Science 2023 conference. At the event organized by MAPS in Denver this June, a reported 13,000 people gathered to talk about what seemed like every possible topic related to the productive use of these substances.
Founded in the late 1980s, MAPS has spent decades working to get approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD and related conditions.
The payoff for those decades of work are coming to fruition. The FDA is expected to approve therapy using psilocybin—the psychoactive ingredients in magic mushrooms—and MDMA—the drug also known as ecstasy and molly. And Oregon and Colorado have decriminalized the recreational use of plant-based psychedelics.
Watch Nick Gillespie's full interview with Doblin, which was featured in Reason's 32-minute documentary on the psychedelic renaissance, discussing the long path to FDA approval and what comes next in the world of psychedelic legalization.

This guy is so woke. Hearing him spew BS completely delegitimizes any valid argument he may have
It’s hillarous that he uses the Russo-Ukraine conflict as an example of why we need the military. I think we’ll find aiding the Ukrainians was mistake in a few years
Psychedelics helped me get rid of anxiety, depression and illicit pill addiction. They really helped me
I love this guy! What a giant!
Stop the HorseShit of climet change BullShit! educate your self!! Please.
Rick you’re right on it. An element of the desire for authoritarian/strong man is a reach for safety that they can’t find inside in themselves. A projection of fear/anxiety.
Rick is such a gentle and charismatic guy. Great insights.
I love you Rick ❤️. Thank you!
psychedelics to heal the world
How frustrating the slowness of the medicinal application with the FDA, yet it if was a dumb arse supposed vaccine it would fly through. I appreciate the patience of Rick going down that route as I know it's painfully ridiculous and ultimately it will be applied so narrowly it will be too restrictive and expensive for most people to have access to it but even so this does change for the better for the rest of us going into plant medicine healing path.
Makes so much sense
While I agree with Rick on psychedelics, he is a communist and a devout Marxist. He should immediately.move to North Korea or Venezuela and do his work from there lest he be deemed a hypocrite.
Nick has the shaking head response down.
Drugs are bad, full stop. Medicine is fine, but shit like shrooms or molly is not medicine.
Rick Dblin desserve a NOBEL prize…nothing less…
He work very hard, more than 40 years, for the truth.
Truth will liberate us all.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Psychedelics you is the best gift one could ask for. It has so many amazing benefits such as eliminating anxiety and depression, improved mood, addiction, opening of the mind and lots more
Would love to try psychedelic drugs like LSD or the psilocybin mushrooms, just don't know where or how I can get my hands on them. So rare in my area
Psychedelic’s definitely have potential to deal with mental health symptoms like anxiety and depression, I would like to try them again but it’s just so hard to source here
This guy learned nothing from the mouse utopia experiment…
