Extract of Nomadic Souls performing Talking In Tongues at Breakin’ Convention 2013 at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London.

Talking in Tongues is influenced by the world in which we live. Territory, religion, race and education continue to play a part in the disparity of the human race, yet through our body language and facial expressions we always have a common language, a way to communicate… don’t we? We have the same fears, the same aspirations, yet we cannot, or choose not to see it…

Using locking as the foundation language of the company tonight is a premiere of this abstract piece, performed to an original score.

Nomadic Souls is a theatrical funk collective whose ethos is to create innovative new dance theatre using locking as a uniting language between the dancers, always staying true to the technique and foundation of the style, but remove it from its ‘general stereotype’ of being a lively, happy, character-based dance.

Choreographers and performers: David Bennie, Lulu Fish, Oliver Fitzgerald, PJ
Musicians: Sara Farina, Tuca Milan
